How verification works
Verification is the backbone of TRUME. It is why the community feels different from a general dating app, and it is required before any account can message another member.
The check itself
You are asked to take a live selfie in a randomly chosen pose. The capture happens inside the app, cannot be uploaded from your camera roll, and is compared against the photos on your profile.
- Randomised pose prevents reused or stolen images
- Automated comparison, then human review
- Usually completed within a few hours
- Your selfie is never shown on your profile
What the badge means
A verified badge means the person in the photos is the person holding the phone. That is a meaningful guarantee and it removes the overwhelming majority of catfish and bot accounts.
What verification does not mean
Verification is an identity-consistency check, not a character reference. TRUME does not conduct criminal background checks and makes no guarantee about the conduct of any member. Always meet safely and report anything that feels wrong.
Re-verification
If you change your photos substantially, or if reports suggest a profile no longer matches its owner, we ask for the check again. Refusing re-verification suspends messaging until it is completed.
Storage and deletion
Verification selfies are stored separately from your profile, are accessible only to the moderation team, and are deleted when your account is deleted.
