Terms and conditions of use
Effective Date: 1 August 2026. Last Updated: 6 September 2026. These Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between Lanex Group (“Lanex”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and each person who accesses, registers for, or otherwise uses the TruMe Dating platform (“TruMe”, “Platform”, or “Service”). These Terms became effective and binding upon users of the Service on 1 August 2026 and govern all access to and use of TruMe from that date, subject always to any mandatory provisions of applicable law. By accessing the Platform, creating an Account, completing the registration process, selecting an acceptance mechanism indicating agreement to these Terms, or otherwise using any functionality made available through TruMe, you acknowledge and agree that you have had the opportunity to review these Terms and that you accept and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access, register for, or use TruMe. For the avoidance of doubt, continued access to or use of the Platform following the Effective Date constitutes continued use subject to these Terms, to the extent such acceptance mechanism is legally effective under Applicable Law.
1. Definitions and rules of interpretation
For purposes of these Terms, unless the context otherwise requires, the following definitions shall apply.
Headings are included for convenience only and shall not affect the interpretation of these Terms. Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa, and references to any gender include all genders.
- “Account” means the individual user account established for a User in order to access and utilise functionality made available through TruMe.
- “Applicable Law” means any applicable law, statute, regulation, ordinance, directive, legally binding regulatory requirement, judicial order, administrative order, or other legally enforceable requirement applicable to Lanex, TruMe, or the User in connection with the relevant matter.
- “Content” means any material, information, data, text, image, photograph, video, audio, communication, profile information, biography, identifier, or other material made available through the Platform.
- “Real-Time Image” means an image captured through the Platform’s designated camera or image-capture functionality contemporaneously with the relevant request or verification process and not merely selected from a pre-existing image library.
- “User Content” means all Content submitted, uploaded, transmitted, published, generated, captured, or otherwise provided by or on behalf of a User.
- “User”, “you”, and “your” refer to the individual accessing or using TruMe.
- “Lanex Group”, “Lanex”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the entity operating TruMe Dating.
2. Acceptance and contractual effect
These Terms establish the contractual conditions upon which Lanex makes TruMe available to Users.
By registering for an Account or using the Service, you expressly acknowledge that your use of TruMe is conditional upon your compliance with these Terms and any additional policies, rules, standards, notices, or guidelines incorporated by reference.
Where TruMe presents an electronic acceptance mechanism, including a checkbox, button, confirmation prompt, registration action, or substantially similar mechanism, your affirmative action constitutes an electronic indication of assent to these Terms to the extent recognised under Applicable Law. You acknowledge that electronic acceptance may constitute evidence of your agreement to these Terms.
Nothing contained in these Terms shall be interpreted as excluding, restricting, or contracting out of any statutory right, remedy, protection, or obligation which cannot lawfully be excluded, waived, restricted, or modified.
3. Nature and purpose of the Service
TruMe is a technology-enabled dating and social-discovery platform operated by Lanex Group. The Platform is designed to facilitate the creation of individual profiles, discovery of other Users, communication between Users, matching or recommendation functionality, and related social or dating interactions.
Lanex does not represent or warrant that use of TruMe will result in a particular romantic, social, personal, sexual, matrimonial, or other outcome.
Lanex is not a party to any relationship, communication, meeting, transaction, arrangement, or other interaction established between Users and does not assume responsibility for the conduct, representations, omissions, intentions, or activities of any User except to the extent liability is imposed upon Lanex by mandatory Applicable Law.
4. User eligibility and capacity
TruMe is intended solely for persons who are legally permitted to use an adult dating and social-discovery service. Unless otherwise expressly permitted by Applicable Law and expressly authorised by Lanex, a User must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of registration.
By registering for an Account, you represent, warrant, and undertake that all information supplied by you is materially accurate, complete, current, and not knowingly misleading; that you possess the legal capacity necessary to enter into these Terms; and that you are not prohibited by Applicable Law from accessing or using an online dating or social-discovery service.
Lanex reserves the right to request reasonable information or undertake reasonable technical or procedural measures for the purpose of establishing age eligibility, account authenticity, fraud prevention, Platform security, or compliance with Applicable Law.
5. Account registration and account security
Each Account is personal to the User for whom it was created. You shall not sell, assign, transfer, licence, rent, lend, share, or otherwise permit another person to access or operate your Account.
You remain responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of authentication credentials associated with your Account and for activities undertaken through your Account, subject to Applicable Law and circumstances involving unauthorised access for which you are not reasonably responsible.
You shall promptly notify Lanex upon becoming aware of any suspected unauthorised access, compromise of credentials, fraudulent use, or other security incident affecting your Account. Lanex reserves the right, where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, compliance, enforcement, or protection of the Platform or its Users, to require additional authentication or verification measures.
6. Real-time photography and authenticity of user images
TruMe incorporates functionality designed to promote authenticity and reduce the prevalence of fraudulent, impersonated, misleading, or otherwise deceptive profiles. Where the Platform requires or facilitates the capture of an image through its designated camera functionality, the applicable image is captured in real time through the Platform rather than being selected by the User from an existing photograph library.
The real-time image mechanism constitutes a technological authenticity measure and is intended to make it more difficult for individuals to operate accounts using photographs belonging to another person, previously obtained photographs, or materially misleading profile imagery.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the User expressly acknowledges that the capture of a Real-Time Image does not constitute, and shall not be construed as, a representation or warranty by Lanex that the individual depicted is independently verified, that the individual has provided truthful information, or that the individual is safe, trustworthy, suitable, or otherwise accurately represented.
Lanex does not warrant that technological measures employed by TruMe will detect or prevent every instance of impersonation, fraud, deception, manipulation, or other prohibited conduct. Users remain responsible for exercising reasonable judgement and appropriate caution when interacting with other Users.
7. User representations and warranties
By using TruMe, you represent and warrant on an ongoing basis that you shall provide information that is not knowingly false, fraudulent, materially misleading, or intentionally deceptive.
You shall not represent yourself as another individual, organisation, public figure, professional, or other person or entity where such representation is false or unauthorised.
You further represent that User Content submitted by you does not knowingly infringe the intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, contractual rights, or other legally protected rights of any third party. Where you provide an image, you represent that you have the lawful authority to provide that image to TruMe and to permit its processing and display in accordance with these Terms and the applicable Privacy Policy.
8. User content and licence
As between Lanex and the User, the User retains such ownership rights in User Content as the User may lawfully possess.
By submitting User Content to TruMe, you grant Lanex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the duration reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Service, to host, store, reproduce, transmit, process, format, adapt, display, communicate, and otherwise technically use such User Content for purposes including providing the Service, displaying profiles, facilitating communications, maintaining security, preventing fraud, performing moderation, investigating abuse, maintaining backups, and developing and improving TruMe, subject to Applicable Law.
This licence does not constitute an unrestricted commercial assignment of ownership of your User Content. You remain responsible for the legality and accuracy of User Content submitted by you.
9. Prohibited use and conduct
No User shall use TruMe for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, malicious, exploitative, or otherwise prohibited purpose.
Without limiting the foregoing, Users shall not engage in conduct involving harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, coercion, extortion, fraud, impersonation, financial scams, identity theft, exploitation, trafficking, grooming, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material, or any other conduct prohibited by Applicable Law.
Users shall not knowingly introduce malicious software, attempt to compromise Platform infrastructure, circumvent authentication mechanisms, interfere with Platform security, scrape or systematically harvest User information, employ unauthorised automated systems, manipulate Platform functionality, or otherwise interfere with the proper operation of TruMe.
Lanex may treat conduct occurring through or in connection with TruMe as a breach of these Terms where the conduct materially affects Platform safety, security, integrity, Users, or Lanex’s legitimate interests, subject to Applicable Law.
10. Account deletion and account retention
At the Effective Date of these Terms, TruMe does not provide a general self-service Account deletion facility through which a User may independently initiate permanent deletion of their Account. By registering for and using TruMe, the User acknowledges and accepts that this functionality is not presently available as part of the Platform’s current feature set.
Lanex may introduce Account deletion functionality, procedures, or mechanisms as the Platform develops. The introduction of such functionality shall not create an obligation upon Lanex to provide any particular technical implementation beyond what is required by Applicable Law.
Upon implementation of a voluntary Account deletion mechanism, Lanex may impose reasonable eligibility requirements designed to protect the integrity, security, and proper operation of the Service. Such requirements may include a minimum period during which an Account must have remained active before becoming eligible for voluntary deletion through the ordinary Account deletion mechanism. Unless otherwise required by Applicable Law, the contemplated minimum eligibility period for voluntary Account deletion is thirty (30) consecutive days of Account activity.
The foregoing provision concerns the contractual and technical availability of a voluntary Account deletion feature and shall not be construed as preventing or restricting any User from exercising a statutory right relating to personal data, privacy, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, or any other mandatory right arising under Applicable Law. Where Lanex is legally required to delete, erase, restrict, or otherwise process personal information, Lanex shall address such request in accordance with the applicable legal framework.
11. Privacy and data processing
The processing of personal data in connection with TruMe is governed by the applicable TruMe Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of the contractual documentation governing the Service.
Users acknowledge that operation of a dating platform necessarily involves the processing of information supplied by Users and information generated through their use of the Service.
Lanex may process personal data for purposes including account administration, authentication, security, fraud prevention, moderation, service delivery, communications, technical operation, troubleshooting, analytics, legal compliance, enforcement of these Terms, and other purposes described in the applicable Privacy Policy and permitted by Applicable Law. Nothing contained in these Terms authorises Lanex to process personal data unlawfully or purports to remove any mandatory statutory protection applicable to the User.
12. Communications and interactions between Users
TruMe provides technological means through which Users may communicate and interact. Lanex does not control the substance, accuracy, intentions, or consequences of communications between Users.
Users acknowledge that information appearing within another User’s profile may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or fraudulent. Lanex does not warrant the identity, age, relationship status, occupation, financial circumstances, intentions, criminal history, personal characteristics, qualifications, or conduct of any User unless a particular verification has been expressly identified by Lanex as having been completed.
Users assume responsibility for evaluating information supplied by other Users and for determining whether, when, where, and how to communicate or meet another User.
13. Personal safety
Use of an online dating service involves inherent risks, including the risk that another User may misrepresent their identity, intentions, circumstances, or personal characteristics. Users are solely responsible for making appropriate decisions concerning communications and meetings with other Users.
Lanex strongly recommends that Users exercise reasonable safety precautions when communicating with or meeting another person first encountered through TruMe, including maintaining appropriate boundaries, avoiding the unnecessary disclosure of financial or highly sensitive personal information, arranging meetings in appropriate public environments, maintaining independent transportation arrangements where reasonably practicable, and informing a trusted person of meeting arrangements where appropriate.
Lanex shall not be responsible for conduct occurring outside the Platform except to the extent responsibility is imposed upon Lanex under mandatory Applicable Law.
14. Moderation, investigation and enforcement
Lanex reserves the right, subject to Applicable Law, to investigate suspected breaches of these Terms and to take proportionate measures reasonably necessary to protect Users, the Platform, Lanex, or third parties.
Such measures may include warnings, removal or restriction of Content, limitations upon particular functionality, temporary suspension, permanent suspension, termination of Accounts, or other appropriate technical or administrative measures.
Lanex may utilise automated systems, human review, or a combination thereof for purposes including safety, fraud detection, abuse prevention, content moderation, security, and enforcement. Where Lanex takes an enforcement action in circumstances in which Applicable Law provides a User with a right to receive an explanation, appeal, complaint mechanism, or other procedural protection, Lanex shall provide such mechanism to the extent legally required.
15. Reporting of content and Users
TruMe may provide mechanisms through which Users may report profiles, Content, communications, conduct, or other activity believed to violate these Terms or Applicable Law.
Reports shall be made honestly and in good faith. A User who knowingly submits materially false or malicious reports, or who abuses reporting mechanisms for the purpose of harassing another User, may themselves be subject to enforcement action.
16. Suspension and termination
Lanex may suspend, restrict, or terminate an Account where reasonably necessary and legally permissible, including where the User has materially breached these Terms, engaged in unlawful conduct, compromised Platform security, attempted to circumvent enforcement measures, engaged in fraud or abuse, or created a material risk to another User, Lanex, or the Platform.
Termination shall not prejudice any rights, claims, liabilities, or obligations accrued before termination.
Provisions which by their nature are intended to survive termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content, indemnification, liability, disclaimers, dispute resolution, and governing law, shall survive termination to the extent legally enforceable.
17. Intellectual property and proprietary rights
All intellectual property rights subsisting in or relating to the Platform, including software, source and object code, architecture, databases, interfaces, designs, graphics, trademarks, service marks, logos, branding, text, functionality, and proprietary systems, are owned by or lawfully licensed to Lanex or its applicable licensors.
Except where expressly permitted by these Terms or Applicable Law, no User is granted any right, title, interest, licence, or other proprietary entitlement in or to the Platform.
A User shall not reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, extract, scrape, commercially exploit, sublicense, sell, or otherwise misuse any portion of the Platform except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by mandatory Applicable Law.
18. Service availability and technical limitations
Lanex shall use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and functionality of TruMe but does not warrant that the Platform will be continuously available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with every device, or free from defects.
The Platform may be suspended or become unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, infrastructure failures, telecommunications failures, cybersecurity incidents, third-party service interruptions, force majeure events, or circumstances otherwise beyond Lanex’s reasonable control. Nothing in this provision excludes liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Third-party services
TruMe may incorporate, rely upon, interface with, or depend upon third-party infrastructure, software, hosting providers, authentication services, payment providers, analytics services, communications providers, application stores, or other third-party technology.
Lanex does not control independent third-party services and shall not be responsible for their independent acts or omissions except where Applicable Law provides otherwise. A User’s use of third-party services may additionally be subject to the terms, conditions, policies, and privacy practices of the relevant third party.
20. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, TruMe is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.
Lanex does not warrant that the Platform will satisfy every User’s individual expectations, that particular matches will be generated, that User information will always be accurate, or that interactions between Users will result in any particular outcome.
No statement made within these Terms shall be interpreted as excluding a warranty, statutory protection, consumer right, or other legal entitlement which cannot lawfully be excluded.
21. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, Lanex shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or unforeseeable losses arising from or in connection with the User’s access to or use of TruMe.
Without limiting the foregoing, and subject always to non-excludable liability, Lanex shall not be responsible for losses arising from the conduct, representations, omissions, fraud, deception, or unlawful acts of another User; meetings or relationships between Users; inaccurate User Content; communications between Users; or conduct occurring outside the Platform.
Nothing contained in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by Applicable Law.
22. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, the User shall indemnify and hold harmless Lanex, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, service providers, and representatives against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from or relating to the User’s breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, User Content, infringement of third-party rights, fraudulent use of TruMe, or misuse of the Service.
This indemnification obligation shall apply only to the extent enforceable under Applicable Law.
23. Legal compliance and disclosure
Lanex may cooperate with courts, regulators, governmental authorities, law-enforcement agencies, or other competent authorities where required or legally permitted.
Nothing in these Terms prevents Lanex from complying with a lawful order, statutory obligation, regulatory requirement, or other binding legal process.
Where legally permitted, Lanex may preserve or disclose information reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, unlawful conduct, or threats to the safety of persons or the integrity of the Platform.
24. Modifications to the Platform and these Terms
Lanex reserves the right to modify, update, enhance, suspend, restrict, replace, or discontinue Platform features from time to time, subject to Applicable Law.
Lanex may amend these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in the Service, technology, legal requirements, regulatory obligations, security practices, or business operations.
Where Applicable Law requires advance notice or affirmative acceptance of material changes, Lanex shall provide such notice or obtain such acceptance in the manner required.
25. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined by a competent court or authority to be unlawful, invalid, void, or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Where legally permissible, the affected provision shall be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to render it enforceable while preserving its intended commercial and legal effect.
26. No waiver
No failure, delay, or omission by Lanex in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall constitute a waiver of that right or remedy.
Any waiver must be expressly made by Lanex and shall apply only to the particular circumstance for which it is given.
27. Assignment
The User may not assign, transfer, delegate, or otherwise dispose of any rights or obligations arising under these Terms without Lanex’s prior written consent.
Lanex may assign or transfer these Terms, or any rights or obligations arising under them, in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, reorganisation, financing, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction, subject to Applicable Law.
28. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Cookie Policy, and any other documents expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement governing the User’s use of TruMe in relation to their subject matter.
If a conflict exists between these Terms and a mandatory requirement of Applicable Law, the mandatory requirement shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.
29. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable to the contractual relationship between the User and Lanex, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection, privacy, data-protection, or other statutory provisions applicable to the User.
Nothing contained in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory rights or protections which cannot lawfully be excluded by agreement.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the User’s use of TruMe shall be submitted to a court having lawful jurisdiction over the dispute.
30. Electronic acceptance
The User acknowledges that electronic acceptance of these Terms through the Platform may constitute a legally binding expression of consent where recognised by Applicable Law.
The User further acknowledges that acceptance of these Terms is a condition of registration and continued use of TruMe.
By selecting “Create Account”, “Register”, “Sign Up”, “Accept”, or an equivalent electronic acceptance mechanism, the User confirms that they have reviewed these Terms and agree to be bound by them.
31. Effective date and transitional application
These Terms are effective as of 1 August 2026. The Terms apply to all use of TruMe occurring on or after the Effective Date, subject to Applicable Law.
The “Last Updated” date identifies the date on which the published version of these Terms was most recently revised and does not alter the original Effective Date.
